Yeez Joins the Florida Mutineers as a Substitute

Today, the Florida Mutineers announced the signing of Yeez as a substitute player. Florida’s starting roster is expected to remain unchanged. The addition of Yeez rounds out the Mutineers roster of Havok, Neptune, Owakening, and Skyz.

Yeez comes from an SnD background and turned 18 at the beginning of the season. He played with numerous Challengers teams, but most recently won Stage 5 of the NA Challengers Elite playoffs on Lore Gaming (alongside Parasite, Ramby, and Perform). In May, he finished 2nd in Stage 3 of the NA Challengers Elite playoffs with uT Crew.

The move from Florida makes sense: with the departure of Slacked from the team, there was speculation that the Mutineers were under the minimum required CDL roster size. There were also rumors of ongoing interest throughout the season. In April, Crone linked Yeez and Decemate to the Mutineers as possible replacements for Slacked. Since franchising, Florida has been proactive in signing young Challengers talent, including the late Fero, Owakening, Neptune, and now Yeez.

The Mutineers team currently sits at 200 CDL points, which puts them in 7th place, tied with the LA Thieves. Right above in 6th place is Minnesota RƘKKR, at 220 CDL points.

For CDL playoffs, the top 6 teams start in the winner bracket. The 7th and 8th seeded teams start in the loser bracket. A strong push at the end of the season could help Florida avoided the dreaded 7th and 8th seed, and propel them into a coveted top 6 spot for the playoffs.
