Velly leaves Call of Duty League desk less than two weeks from Championship Weekend
Today, the Call of Duty League announced that Loviel “Velly” Cardwell has resigned from his job as a desk host, and he later confirmed he would also not be attending Championship Weekend on August the fourth.
Velly’s esports career started in Gears of War where he was a former professional player, he later moved on to casting and an analytic role in Rainbow Six, as well VALORANT in 2021.
In January 2022, Velly officially joined the Call of Duty League desk full-time and instantly made his mark on our scene with his high energy and enthusiasm, which was noticeable from the first day he stepped onto our screens.
There were hopes from the community that Velly would stick around and continue to bring his high energy to the desk for many seasons to come, but that unfortunately won’t be the case.
Shortly after the Call of Duty League announced his resignation, Velly followed up with a tweet of his own explaining that his year with the Call of Duty League was done, and that there were no personal issues between himself and the league. He followed up again and stated the league had done nothing wrong, and “treated me like a king” during his time there.
The exact reasoning for Velly resigning and his future plans are still unknown.
