The Tactical Recap #8

Welcome to the Tactical Recap. The top 5 Call of Duty League storylines of the week. Don’t have enough time to catch all of TacticalRab’s videos? We’ve got you covered! Put a 🌶️🌶️🌶️ in the comments to let us know you’re reading!

1. iLLeY Returns… Again

iLLeY has once again returned to the starting roster for OpTic. On stream, Rambo explained that he is confident that iLLeY will be able to remain in the lineup for the entire season. With little practice, they faced off against the Paris Legion and secured a 3-1 victory. NYSL was next up on their schedule and the result was not as promising. OpTic lost 3-1 and their respawns looked very flawed. Can this OpTic roster get back to Major 1 form or are they chalked?

2. Crimsix vs OpTic

After NYSL beat down on OpTic, Crim took to Twitter for some good ol’ fashioned trash talk.

He had some colorful words for iLLeY and also told them to “get on the hill”. This knock came after NYSL beat OpTic 500 to 339 in the two HP’s. NYSL looked impressive in Hardpoint against OpTic and they need to keep it rolling for a shot at Champs.

3. New York to Champs?

NYSL is HOT 🔥 this stage and have come out to a perfect 4-0 start. Last week, they beat the Major 3 Champions Seattle Surge and also handled OpTic Texas. They are now within 25 points of claiming the 8th spot for Champs. This weekend, they have a key matchup against LA Thieves, who are only 30 points ahead of them. To qualify for Champs, this may be a make-or-break match for New York. Does this team have what it takes?

4. Upsets in Vanguard

On Friday, Boston faced off against the Major 3 Champs and took a win that nobody predicted. This win practically sealed Boston’s spot at Champs. As for Seattle, they looked like the best team in the game going into Stage 4 and they have already picked up two losses (the second loss came against NYSL).

This week also brought an even crazier upset with FaZe falling to LAG. The Guerrillas have looked abysmal with this new roster and they managed to beat FaZe, the team most people are now calling “best in the game. This win is keeping LAG in contention for champs.

5. Is Temp Freeing Himself?

Paris are 0-3 this stage. Not a huge surprise to anyone. Temp has been displaying his frustration on Twitter. After the close loss to LA Thieves, he hinted that he may be done for the season.

If this is actually the case and Temp moves himself to the bench we would likely see John back in the main roster. Paris have two games remaining in Stage IV Qualifiers and then they have one game in the losers bracket before their season is over.
