The Tactical Recap #7
Welcome to the Tactical Recap. The top 5 Call of Duty League storylines of the week. Don’t have enough time to catch all of TacticalRab’s videos? We’ve got you covered! Put a 🌶️🌶️🌶️ in the comments to let us know you’re reading!
1. 🍩ctane Working On a New Craft
On Sunday, we saw FaZe square off against the LA Thieves. We saw a battle in maps 1, 3, and 4. The SnD matchups in map 2 and map 5? Different story entirely. FaZe dominated LAT 6 to 0 in both SnD’s. Octane was working on his craft in those games but wasn’t the craft of Call of Duty. He completed the first ever double donut in a series going 0 and 6 in both maps. Mmm… donuts.
2. Major Exacts His Revenge
It’s never chalked for one man in the CDL. The man, the myth, MajorManiak. After being dropped by the Minnesota RØKKR (again), he found his way onto the Florida Mutineers. Mike faced off against his former team this weekend. Despite some close games, we saw Florida take a much needed 3-0 victory. Major stamped his name all over that series, dropping a 1.40 overall KD. Will he be able to help this team make Champs?
3. An OpTic Party, but at what Cost
With a disappointing 0-2 start to the stage, it’s come to everyone’s attention that only Prolute has been playing with his cam on for OpTic. This could indicate that the full team is not playing from the facility.
Unfortunately for OpTic, it’s come to light that OpTic players, across games, got sick after attending a party the organization held! Members of the OpTic Valorant team, who also attended the party, were also sick. Rambo noted that scrims have been difficult because the team has been dealing with a sick player(s).
Dashy, Splashy, and now Rashy. This season just doesn’t get easier for the Green Wall…
4. Chances of OpTic Temp?
With iLLeY’s return up in the air, fans are questioning if the roster “works” with Prolute. Despite slotting in well to the team, Prolute played as an SMG in Challengers for two years.
One name being thrown around: Temp. Aches believes that Temp would be a perfect fit for this OpTic squad, and that Donnie would bring much needed leadership and comms to OpTic. Would a Temp acquisition make sense this close to Champs? So far, the OpTic camp has not shown Pat’s level of enthusiasm…
5. Dashy Calling Teams Out
Dashy mentioned on stream that some CDL teams weren’t putting in their full effort in scrims. For example, he described scrimming a team that would “run down mid with pistols”. Dashy felt disrespected by the way other teams were practicing and he would refuse to play another map in the scrim. Which teams are still trolling this late into the season?
