Minnesota RØKKR are looking at potentially bringing back Attach for his third season under the franchise, while also buying out restricted free agent Cammy, and adding Afro into the mix, according to multiple sources.
When rostermania kicked off last week, Minnesota’s COO Brett Diamond announced that Priestahh, Attach, and Standy’s contracts had expired, and the trio were free to explore their options within the league. He also added that Havok’s contract was not extended despite it being an option for the franchise, but they did extend Fame, who was signed as a last-minute substitute just a few days before Major IV.
With an almost complete roster wipe, RØKKR had plenty of options to consider and were willing to spend money according to one source, and it looks like it might have paid off for the franchise who failed to qualify for Champs this season.
Going into this rostermania Attach was regarded as one of the hottest free agents on the market and if the move happens, his return presumably wouldn’t be cheap for Minnesota.
Afro, like Attach, is also currently an unrestricted free agent and was recently linked to Toronto Ultra by ZooMaa and co-signed by CDL Intel just a few days ago — but it looks like Minnesota might have lured him away.
On the other side, Cammy, a restricted free agent under Toronto Ultra, likely has a pricey buyout next to his name, which could range from anywhere between $150,000 and $200,000.
As for the fourth player on the potential team, reports were conflicted and I could not confirm with a closer source, but a top candidate is veteran player Bance who was most recently released from Toronto Ultra on Sunday and has played with Cammy on the team since the Call of Duty League launched in 2019.
As a reminder players can’t enter into new Player Contracts until August 22 at 12:00 a.m (PT).
