Earlier today, Los Angeles Thieves announced Shane “Shane” McKerral as the team’s new assistant coach. He bolsters the Thieves’ coaching staff and joins current head coach Jordan “JKap” Kaplan on the bench.
Shane was previously a coach for London Royal Ravens in 2021 and 2020, during the first two years of the CDL, to 24-39 combined record (38.1% win rate). The Ravens went 15-16 during the Modern Warfare season and 9-23 in the Cold War season.
He also coached Team Reciprocity during the Black Ops 4 season and Unilad during the second half of the World War 2 season. Both teams showed impressive performances and massively overperformed expectations whilst picking up some strong placements in multiple events including a 4th place finish at CWL Anaheim 2018 and a 3rd place finish at CWL Fort Worth 2019.
Prior to his coaching career Shane was a player dating all the way back to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare through to CWL Birmingham 2018 after which he retired and took up coaching. During his long playing career he teamed with nearly all of the top European players including the likes of Jurd, Zer0, Madcat, Swanny and Tommey.
