The stage has been set for the race for the Most Valuable Player. Four teams have won a Major this season, giving fans a race down to the wire.
To help vote on each award, Breaking Point has created a panel of voters from the Community. The panel consists of Breaking Point staff, The Flank team, the on-air broadcast talent, coaches from each of the twelve professional teams, and select members from media within the space.
Each voter was asked to rank their top five players for each award. Each position earns:
1st: 10 points
2nd: 7 points
3rd: 5 points
4th: 3 points
5th: 1 point
After compiling the voters’ ballots, the search has been narrowed to four. Without further ado, here are the Most Valuable Player Award nominees:
Paco led the Subliners to a Major IV victory & was a force slaying across all three modes. He set the records for longest Control Killstreak at 14 & most kills in a 4-map series at 115 while leading the CDL with the most 30+ Kill games at 42. HyDra was one of four SMG players (Simp, aBeZy, Shotzzy) to be positive in all three modes. He led the League with an 89.4 Slayer Rating & led SMGs with a 1.15 respawn KD.
The best damage dealer in the CDL, Scrap led the League in Damage per 10 minutes in both Hardpoint (4763) and Control (4365), while having the 2nd best ADR in SND (196.3). Scrap also holds records for most damage in a 4-map series (20,615) & most damage in a 3-map series (15,902). He led the Toronto Ultra to a championship in Major 1. Finishing with a 1.17 KD & 87.3 Slayer Rating, Scrap was great in all three modes.
The Cold War MVP has returned. Simp was a force on Atlanta FaZe this season, leading the team to a Major II victory and a 37-8 series record on the year. He was the only SMG player to have a 1.10 KD or better in every mode, with a high of 1.20 in SND. The Tiny Terror tied Cellium in the Cellium Index, going positive in 91% of his series while only going negative just 4 times over the 45 series played. His Grand Finals KDs go 1.21 at Major I, 1.29 at Major II, and 1.11 at Major IV.
The movement King of the CDL, Shotzzy is the final nominee for the MVP Award. After leading Texas to their Major III victory, Shotzzy finished the Major with a 1.11 KD and a 90.7 Slayer Rating. Overall, he was one of four SMG players (Simp, aBeZy, HyDra) to be positive in all three modes. Shotzzy had 7 series with over 100 kills, tying Simp for the second most 100+ kill series (HyDra 1st with 9).
