After 6 years, Prestiges return to Call of Duty in Black Ops 6. Here's how it all works!
The Classic Prestige system returns in Black Ops 6, offering the most rewarding Prestige system in Call of Duty history, with rewards themed around previous Black Ops titles. Reaching level 55 in Black Ops 6 unlocks the option to enter Prestige mode, taking your progress to the next level. Once prestiged, players will be reset to level 1 before beginning the grind back to level 55 to prestige again.
Access the Prestige Hub through the "Progression" button in the Barracks to explore your Prestige journey, preview rewards, and track your progress. Upon selecting a Prestige, you can view its rewards and your current status within it.
Players can preview the prestiges within the game, ranging from Prestige 1 to Prestage 10. With each prestige, there are Prestige Mastery challenges, viewed on the right side of the screen. Finishing challenges unlocks exclusive rewards including emblems, calling cards, weapon blueprints, and more!
Entering Prestige isn’t without risk, just like in previous Call of Duty games. Upon choosing to Prestige, you’ll be promoted to Prestige 1, but you’ll also experience the following:
Reset the Player back down to Level 1
All Level Unlocks will be locked again, except for Base Operators, Emotes, Zombies GobbleGums, and anything you permanently unlocked
Loadouts will reset
Lifetime stats will remain in your Combat Record, but in-game stats will reflect only your current Prestige
However, certain items won’t be reset, including:
Weapon progression, camos, and reticles
Weapon builds (unlocked weapons may be relocked, but your custom builds will remain)
Challenge progress and rewards that were unlocked
Store and Battle Pass content
Operator and Emote unlocks
Zombies GobbleGums
Each time players prestige, they unlock exclusive rewards.
Upon entering Prestige 1, players will receive these rewards:
The Prestige 1 Icon
"Nacht Raider" Weaver Operator Skin
Access to Prestige 1 Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card Challenges
One Permanent Unlock
Each Prestige level grants you rewards every 10 levels, with unique bonuses at Levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.
When you Prestige, you’ll also earn a "Permanent Unlock," a powerful perk allowing you to unlock any item early. You’ll gain one Permanent Unlock per Prestige, up to a total of 10. Once you complete Prestige 10, you no longer need Permanent Unlocks since your entire Level Unlocks Progression becomes available. Here is how the unlocks work:
Players can use it to unlock a single item of their choice within the Player Levels, such as perks or weapons
Players obtain a total of ten Permanent Unlocks in total, one per Prestige
Once players enter Prestige 10, Permanent Unlocks are no longer needed as your Level Unlocks Progression becomes fully available once you’ve entered Prestige Master
Strategically use your Permanent Unlocks to customize your gameplay experience and unlock your preferred gear. For instance, if you don’t want to wait to reach Level 49 for the Kompakt 92 SMG, use your Permanent Unlock to access it instantly.
Once you decide to take on the next Prestige, the player's level will reset down to Level 1, Prestige 1, and the date you enter Prestige will be recorded. As soon as the player does, they’ll earn an instant reward. As they continue to level back up and unlock the standard rewards, they’ll also gain access to exclusive Prestige rewards.
"Welcome to Black Ops History! In Black Ops 6, each Prestige is themed around a game in Black Ops history, featuring a variety of rewards inspired by and paying homage to moments and elements found in each Black Ops title. For example, Prestige 1 features rewards inspired by the first game in the Black Ops timeline: 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War, the origin of Zombies in Call of Duty."
Prestige 1 in Black Ops 6 is themed around Call of Duty: World at War, the game that introduced Zombies. Below are the rewards that players unlock in the 1st Prestige, at the beginning and throughout:
Instant Unlock Reward: Prestige 1 Icon
Instant Unlock Reward: “Nacht Raider” Weaver Operator Skin
Prestige 1, Level 10: “Der Riese” Loading Screen & Social Wallpaper
Prestige 1, Level 20: “Perk-A-Cola” GobbleGum Pack (Premium-only*)
A one-hour XP Token plus a GobbleGum Pack, ready for use in Black Ops 6 Zombies. Expect the following GobbleGums in this Pack:
Perkaholic: Gives the player all available Perks.
On the House: Spawns a Random Perk Power-Up.
Soda Fountain: The next Perk purchased gives an additional random Perk.
Who’s Keeping Score: Spawns a Double Points Power-Up.
Stock Option: Ammo is taken from the player's stockpile instead of their weapon's magazine.
Prestige 1, Level 30: “Zombie Breach” Animated Emblem
Prestige 1, Level 40: “Insta-kill Power-Up” Charm
Prestige 1, Level 50: “Teddy is a Liar” C9 Blueprint
Within each prestige, there are more rewards. As players continue climbing the ranks, the rewards only continue to improve.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features 10 Prestige levels. If you’re determined enough to reach the end, you’ll advance to Prestige Master, unlocking the final stage of Career Progression. As a Prestige Master, your level will go beyond 55 for the first time, allowing you to climb all the way to Level 1,000, with even more rewards awaiting you along the way. Two rewards include the “Sitting Bull Reborn” Marshall Operator Skin as an Instant Reward and “Classified Arsenal” AMES 85 Animated Blueprint at Prestige Master level 90.
Players who achieve Prestige Master Level 100 unlock the ability to customize their Prestige by accessing Legacy Prestige Icons from previous Call of Duty titles. By equipping one of these Legacy Icons, you can replace your Prestige Master icon, altering how your Prestige status is displayed to other players both in and out of the game. Starting at Level 100, you’ll unlock Legacy Prestige 1 icons, with a new set of Legacy Prestige Icons becoming available every 100 levels thereafter:
Prestige Master Level 100: Equip any Legacy Prestige 1 Icon
Prestige Master Level 200: Equip any Legacy Prestige 2 Icon
