Welcome back to the CDL Coaches Poll brought to you by Breaking Point for the Black Ops 6 season! We have again reached out to all 12 CDL coaching staffs around the league to get their thoughts on the current team Power Rankings so far in the preseason. We will continue to conduct these polls before and after each major tournament this season to gauge where each team is ranked. Each coach ranks the opposing teams 1st through 11th, without putting their own team into the rankings. After collecting the rankings from all 12 franchises, each team would be given points for each vote, as seen below:

1st – 11 points
2nd – 10 points
3rd – 9 points
4th – 8 points
5th – 7 points
6th – 6 points
7th – 5 points
8th – 4 points
9th – 3 points
10th – 2 points
11th – 1 points

The CDL Coaches Power Ranking

Below are excerpts from the Season Preview detailing the season expectations for the 12 teams. Ronnie & Easy Mac break down what they expect from each franchise during the Black Ops 6 season.

1st: Los Angeles Thieves
Total Points Received – 115
Roster: Envoy - Ghosty - HyDra - Scrap

Ronnie: “Season expectations for this roster should be absolute dominance, and that will be expected from themselves and fans absolutely zero doubt about that a roster like this should be looking at winning 2-3 events a season while also making sure COD Champs is one of them wins. Winning the Kaysan 4 LAN team tournament just heaps that pressure on them to prove it when it matters. Faze and OpTic will definitely have a lot to say about the LAT "Super Team" as well.

Easy Mac: “The Thieves will easily be one of the best teams in the CDL this season. I am fully expecting the Thieves to win multiple tournaments this year. With two Minors, four Majors, EWC, and Champs on the schedule for now, there are plenty of opportunities to come out victorious. I'd aim for two LAN victories and a Minor win as the base goals for this squad, but honestly, the success of the season will be determined by their performance at Champs. I truly think they won't see this season as a success without becoming World Champions. With Atlanta being an elite SND team, and Texas having a strong history in Hardpoint, the Thieves will need to be well-rounded in all three modes if they wish to achieve this."

2nd: Atlanta FaZe
Total Points Received – 109
Roster: aBeZy - Cellium - Drazah - Simp

Ronnie: “Expectations for the upcoming season? Simply put, win everything; nothing outside of winning is good enough for this roster and organization. Of course, it's not always that simple, but they will enter every match and event expecting to win without a doubt.”

Easy Mac: “With Toronto & New York sacrificing themselves for the LA Thieves superteam, there are now three top-tier teams in the CDL. Multiple other teams could join that party, such as Vancouver or New York, but for now, that means Top 3 has to be the floor for FaZe. With two Minors, four Majors, EWC, and Champs on the schedule for now, the goal should be three LAN wins & a Minor victory. The team will undoubtedly want one of the three LAN wins to be Champs as well, as they haven’t won Champs in four seasons.”

3rd: OpTic Texas
Total Points Received – 100
Roster: Dashy - Kenny - Pred - Shotzzy

Ronnie: “Season expectations for OpTic should be a repeat of last season with winning an event and the world championship. Maybe without the embarrassing stage 4 performances this time around though. With most OpTic rosters in the past and especially this one, it's all going to come down to their performance in SND if they can improve on the record they had last year and just be more consistent in the mode in general."

Easy Mac: “Just like for Atlanta & LAT, this team is only interested in winning Championships. Having peak motivation after winning Champs is always difficult, but they still have plenty of motivation due to FaZe's EWC win & LA making another superteam. They'll be hungry to prove that they are still the top dogs in the League.

The goal I'd set for the team is three championship victories this season, which of course they'll want one to be Champs. I think LAT actually matches up very well against them in Respawns, while Atlanta will have the edge in SNDs. This will make the potential matchups between the three interesting, but until further notice OpTic should be on top.

Finally, why did I put them in 3rd for the season seed? Atlanta is incredibly consistent every year & has been the 1st seed in all five CDL seasons. LAT will be incredibly hungry & motivated early since they have just formed their new team, so I'm giving them the edge in CDL points. That doesn't mean OpTic is the 3rd best team, just means that some of the small hiccups like Stage 4 last year could cost them a Top 2 seed."

4th: Toronto Ultra
Total Points Received – 86
Roster: Beans - CleanX - Insight - JoeDeceives

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be to become the clear 4th-best team and put a gap between them and the rest while trying to keep up with the big 3. I'm sure Ultra will understand they may come unstuck more often than not vs. the big 3, but if they can all click at once, I have no doubt they could win an event."

Easy Mac: “The Ultra are one of the harder teams to read this offseason. I actually love the signings they had, picking players that should be able to fill the roles left by Envoy & Scrap. They will be an elite SND team, but it'll remain to be seen how their respawn modes will develop. I currently have New York & Vancouver being the only teams above them in the standings besides the Top 3 teams, but I can easily see Toronto finishing 4th. I can't wait to see the Surge, Ultra, and Cloud9 fight against each other this season & see how they stack up against the elite teams. Overall, expect multiple top 4 placements this year. If they can limit their floor (i.e. a Top 12 finish at a Major), they'll be in the hunt for the 4th seed going into Champs."

5th: Cloud9 New York
Total Points Received – 69
Roster: Attach - Kremp - Mack - Sib

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be to come to most events and make sure you are making Sundays and giving the big 3 a run for their money at every event, and if you get hot at an event, make sure you make the most of the good form. Making sure you are safely in the champs qualification position will be key, so instead of worrying about getting much-needed points near the end of the season, you can put full focus into being ready for COD Champs."

Easy Mac: “The parity in the middle of the League is actually very interesting. There are a lot of teams that are going to be competing to make it to Sundays, with New York being one of the leaders. I'd expect them to be a feisty opponent for any of the top 3 teams, with the potential to take them down on any given day. The issues will be how will all the new pieces come together and whether will they be consistent. Toronto will have the early edge for the 4th seed for me, but they aren't far behind."

6th: Vancouver Surge
Total Points Received – 69
Roster: O4 - abuzah - Hicksy - Nastie

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be trying to battle it out for the best of the rest spot outside the top 3 and make a few Sundays over the season. A lot of the team's success will come down to the fact that if the SMG duo can keep up with the teams around them, I would be pretty certain the AR duo will be able to."

7th: Miami Heretics
Total Points Received – 62
Roster: Lucky - MettalZ - ReeaL - RenKoR

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be to improve on last season and make sure you actually compete on LAN from the get-go and not wait until Major 4 to get a map win. If they can improve on LAN, they could be an upset machine, catching the top teams cold and causing some big upsets.

Easy Mac: “I have higher expectations for Miami than most. They have a talented SMG duo in MettalZ & ReeaL. Lucky is a good leader who will keep the team motivated & playing well. While the last starting spot isn't determined yet, RenKoR has great upside and Vikul has been a proven asset. If they can get hot for streaks this season, they'll be able to get good hauls of CDL points and qualify for Champs at the end of the year."

8th: Los Angeles Guerrillas M8
Total Points Received – 58
Roster: KiSMET - Lynz - Priestahh - Skyz

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be to pick up an event win while also making sure the team is staying more consistent compared to what we saw last season. This is the type of roster that will be expected to be peeking come the end of the season, ready for a run at COD Champs and the Esports World Cup."

Easy Mac: “This is one of the harder teams to predict this season because each piece could have high variance in their performances. I think the middle of the pack in the CDL is as close to each other as ever. Any of Vancouver, New York, Toronto, M8s, etc could take that 4th spot. But with them each being good teams, someone could easily underperform. I'd expect at least one Sunday run to a Top 4 but it'd be hard to see anything further unless 2 of the 3 elite teams falter early in a tournament. In the end, I think they'll take the 8th seed and qualify for Champs."

9th: Minnesota RØKKR
Total Points Received – 48
Roster: Estreal - Gio - Nero - PaulEhx

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be trying to make COD Champs something the team failed to do in MW3 and Vanguard. This type of roster has a pretty high ceiling when everyone is firing but also could end up being one of the worst players we have this year. It's going to take a lot of work from the players and coaching staff to put it all together, but they definitely have some talent."

Easy Mac: “The middle of the pack in the CDL will be as competitive as ever this year. I think there are 8 teams that'll be battling for 5 spots at Champs and some good teams will be on the outside looking in. Sadly, I have Minnesota as one of those teams for now, but I honestly think they can shock teams if they click & the sophomore players take the next step."

Full Minnesota Season Preview

10th: Carolina Royal Ravens
Total Points Received – 39
Roster: Gwinn - SlasheR - TJHaly - Vivid

Ronnie: “Season expectations should be based around making sure they are at COD Champs and always within a chance of making a Sunday at any event. I'm sure it would also be nice for the organization if they could finally go a full season without having to make a roster change."

Easy Mac: “This team should be very good in SND, which makes them a great upset alert team. If their SND form clicks & Vivid turns into a solid flex player, they could easily be a Top 6 team. It's just seeing how the respawns come together. The problem is that the 4th through 12th are highly competitive this season, and if they struggle, they could easily be relegated to the bottom four of the standings. My prediction is they'll compete hard in each stage and be in the mix for the 8th seed in the end."

Full Carolina Season Preview

11th: Boston Breach
Total Points Received – 26
Roster: Cammy - Owakening - Purj - Snoopy

Ronnie: “I would say many have them marked for the 11th-10th placed team, so if they can define expectations and hover around the top 8-4 while also making sure they qualify for COD Champs and see improvement all year long, I'm sure many around the organization will be pleased."

Easy Mac: “Unfortunately, I don't foresee a great season for the Breach. The Top 3 franchises are set. The next tier of New York, Gentlemates, Vancouver, and Toronto are well ahead in my personal ranking. Minnesota & Carolina have rosters I like. Miami always seems to come out of nowhere to surprise everyone & I love the RenKoR signing. That leaves the Breach to compete with Vegas and to try to upset the teams above them. It'll be tough, but there are always teams that are over and undervalued in the preseason that end up shocking everyone. Boston has good pieces and could succeed if the team clicks early. I'll never write off any team because of that, but the road will be hard."

12th: Vegas Falcons
Total Points Received – 11
Roster: 5aLDx - Exnid - KingAbody - Roxas

Easy Mac: “The Falcons are the biggest unknown in the CDL currently. They haven't been in the US for long, so expect the team to get better as the season goes on. The players are actually talented individually but it'll be building up the teamwork and chemistry. I don't have very high expectations, but throwing in some Top 8s & competing hard against the top teams is the baseline. Anything else is very good and will help the team develop for further down the year."
