LAG announces new roster for 2024
The Los Angeles Guerillas have announced the signing of their new starting roster which consists of:
Conor "Diamondcon" Johst
Estreal
Head Coach William "Veohz" Lachance
Assistant Coach Ashkan "Cheek" Chitsaz
Substitute player John-Alexander "Flames" Dieguez
The new roster will see the return of Assault to the Guerrillas' starting roster. Assault finished out Modern Warfare 2 on the Guerillas with a 0.97 overall KD but had high marks in SnD ADR (98.6) and overall non-traded kill percentage (71.2%).
Diamondcon will be the sole member from the original rumored roster to stay. He'll be returning to the League for the first time since the Cold War season and be paired with AR duo Assault. Diamondcon played well as a rookie for the Subliners during Cold War, helping the team net a 3rd place in Major 1.
Fame, leading the SMG frontline, came into the CDL as a rookie last year for the Minnesota RØKKR. He ended MW2 with 0.92 KD overall but improved to 0.96 in LAN matches. A key skill for him is his versatility, as he can play well with both the SMG and AR, which is important in the current meta.
Estreal will round out the new LAG roster. The rookie started playing competitively in Cold War and started taking form during Modern Warfare 2. He finished 3rd at Challengers Champs and 2nd at the Toronto Open to end last season.
LAG will also have a substitute, Flames. Another rookie if he starts this year, Flames has been rising up the Challenger ranks over just 2 years, starting in Cold War. Estreal's teammate in MW2, Flames notably finished 3rd at last year's Challenger Finals after finishing 2nd at the Toronto Open, Top 6 at the Boston Open, and Top 6 at the Raleigh Open.
The team will be coached by Veohz, who has been a Challenger coach since mid-2021. He coached Diamdcon, Estreal, and Flames as a part of Decimate Gaming. He also coached for LAG Academy and Rokkr Academy during the MW2 season.
