A few weeks ago, claims made by Warzone creator Hector “Repullze” Torres drew attention and criticism from the competitive Call of Duty community.

In a podcast episode with OpTic’s Hitch, Repullze claimed that Baka Bros member Biffle was offered multiple spots in the CDL, nodding affirmatively when asked if the offers for Biffle were for “starting spots.”

Biffle, or DiazBiffle, as he’s commonly known by, is one of the most talented Warzone players. His skill has been vouched for by respected names in the community, including Atlanta FaZe’s head coach Crowder. With over $300,000 in career winnings in Warzone, Call of Duty fans have widely speculated that Biffle could be the next CDL superstar.

Over the past few weeks, Breaking Point spoke with representatives from the front offices of all 12 CDL teams regarding these comments.

We can confirm two points:

1) No CDL team extended any starting offers to Biffle.

2) Only one CDL team confirmed that they expressed interest in Biffle heading into Modern Warfare 2.

One team discussed the possibility with Biffle but nothing official. A team rep commented: “He’s definitely got the talent but we’d need to see him play in Challengers”.

A different CDL representative stated, “his agent contacted us, and we never responded.”

While Biffle’s representation reached out to multiple teams, the majority of CDL teams we spoke with had no active communication with the Warzone star.

Former head coach of Toronto Ultra and Los Angeles Guerrillas, MarkyB went on the record officially: “[we’ve] never had a conversation. Wasn’t even mentioned when I was involved [with Ultra or Guerrillas].”

A common theme among most teams we spoke to regarding the topic was a strong belief in Biffle’s raw talent and his potential to compete in the CDL. Regardless, many coaches, players, and CDL team staff were dumbfounded by the recent claims.

Despite public comments from close friend Repullze, only one team even evaluated Biffle during the scouting process. From our sources, no conversations materialized into a starting position offer.

What does this say about the CDL? Despite the influx of new talent in the past few years – Scrap, Pred, HyDra – CDL teams continue to value proven results over potential.

Biffle’s talent as a player is undeniable, and a transition to the CDL would be electrifying. With how lucrative streaming continues to be, we will likely never see Biffle in Challengers or in the CDL as he continues to dominate Warzone.
