By the Numbers: How LA Thieves Dominated Minor II
LA Thieves’ Minor II title run wasn’t just dominant on the eye test; the numbers back up how complete this team looks right now. Here are five stats that define their victory weekend.
1. aBeZy back in superstar form
Across Minor II, Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris finished with the highest K/D (1.15), Slayer Rating (101.0), and SND K/D (1.61) on LA Thieves, leading the team in every major impact metric. He was clearly the best player on the roster over their three matches, and his resurgence in the MPC meta has pushed LA from “contender” to “favorite” status at tournaments. With the other three playing at a high level, aBeZy is the piece that lifts their ceiling above everyone else when it matters.

2. 66% opening duel win rate in SND
Search and Destroy is where LA made life easy on themselves. They led the entire tournament with a 66% opening-duel win rate, consistently starting rounds from man-advantage situations. It wasn’t a one-man show either: Jeremiah "Nium" Harrison went 5-0 (100%), Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez 9-4 (69%), and aBeZy 3-1 (75%) in opening duels, giving them three consistent early round threats. When a team is winning two-thirds of their opening fights, they’re essentially stacking the odds in their favor before the round even really begins.
3. Overload dominance across the board
In Overload, LA Thieves weren’t just good, they were miles ahead of the field. They went a perfect 3-0 in the mode and led the league in Goals per Game (5.67), average Margin of Victory (+3.00), Team K/D (1.10), and Runs per Game (21.0). Defensively, they were just as impressive, ranking second in goals allowed per game (2.67) and Defend Percentage (84.6%), meaning the vast majority of opponent runs went nowhere. When you’re that efficient on both sides, Overload becomes a free map in most series.

4. Balanced Overload scoring threat
That Overload success came from a truly balanced scoring effort. All four LA Thieves players finished in the Top 10 scorers for the tournament in the mode, underlining how hard it is for opponents to “focus” on just one problem. aBeZy and HyDra were tied for second with 5 goals each, Thomas "Scrap" Ernst finished fifth with 4, and Nium tied for sixth with 3. With every player a legitimate scoring threat, LA can constantly pressure defenses and punish any misread or over-commit.
5. Deep and flexible map pool
Minor II also showcased just how deep LA’s map pool has become, especially with newer map/mode combinations in the rotation. They picked up wins on three different Hardpoint maps (Colossus, Hacienda, and Scar) while also showing Gridlock, proving they’re comfortable across a wide spread of rotations and setups. In SND, they played Den, Hacienda, and Sake, only dropping a single Hacienda Search all weekend. In total, they played 9 of the 16 possible map/mode combos and consistently vetoed only Exposure Overload, signaling impressive versatility.
The LA Thieves return to action on Friday, June 12th at 6:00 pm EST against the Boston Breach as they make the last qualifier push heading into Major IV in Paris!
