Success in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play starts with creating the best class to gain an edge over the competition. With a constantly evolving meta and rules, knowing which guns offer the best balance of damage, recoil, and mobility can make all the difference in securing victories. Whether you're going for clutches in Search & Destroy or dealing out damage in Hardpoint, having the right loadout is crucial. In this guide, we’ll break down the best weapons to use in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play to help you climb the leaderboard.

AMES 85

The AMES 85 is the current Assault Rifle in the competitive meta. In recent weeks, almost every professional player has converged onto the same weapon loadout, originating from a combination of classes from Brandon “Dashy” Otell and McArthur “Cellium” Jovel. This class build gives the weapon almost no recoil while increasing the damage and strafe speeds. The key is fully using the increased strafe speeds to your advantage in gunfights. Check out the full class below:

○ Ported Compensator
○ Reinforced Barrel
○ Kepler Microflex
○ Ergonomic Rear Grip
○ Infiltrator Stock

Another variation of the AMES 85 is currently being used by Sam “Octane” Larew in Ranked Play. He switches out the Ergonomic Rear Grip for the Quickdraw Rear Grip. This sacrifices some of the mobility for quicker ADS speeds, helping in chaotic respawn gameplay.

○ Ported Compensator
○ Reinforced Barrel
○ Kepler Microflex
○ Quickdraw Rear Grip
○ Infiltrator Stock

Jackal PDW

The Jackal PDW remains the competitive SMG of choice, even after the recent Gentlemen’s Agreements nerfing it. The professional players have restricted any muzzle attachments while no longer allowing the Long Barrel attachment. Those changes result in more recoil and shorter damage ranges, helping balance the SMG compared to the AR. The current build only has four attachments for competitive play, including:

○ Gain-Twist Barrel
○ Ranger Foregrip
○ Ergonomic Rear Grip
○ Balanced Stock

C9

Looking to change it up? An off-meta choice for SMG is the C9, which can be used in place of the Jackal PDW. The C9 is comparable to most of the Jackal PDW’s statistics, especially with the new attachment restrictions. Below is the C9 class being used by OpTic Gaming legend Seth “Scump” Abner:

○ Reinforced Barrel
○ Ranger Foregrip
○ Ergonomic Rear Grip
○ Balanced Stock
○ Recoil Springs
