In this season preview, we’ll dive into FaZe’s offseason moves, key players to watch, and what are their expectations compared to the competition within the CDL.

The Atlanta FaZe took a calculated approach to the offseason, focusing on building off of the success at the Esports World Cup. While they had a strong showing last season, including two tournament victories, FaZe’s performance at Champs was shocking. The Top 6 placing was their worst in the CDL era, showing potential cracks in the roster. But with their backs against the wall, FaZe made a run at EWC to win the inaugural year and $600,000. That performance proved to be enough to keep the team together going into Black Ops 6.
There were changes within the franchise though, as long-time SND Analyst 2Pac was released. Atlanta has seen its coaching staff shrink from four to just two in the last 14 months. Crowder & RJ will be tasked with keeping the team at championship level as the competition grows steeper around the League.
The Atlanta FaZe roster heading into Black Ops 6:
○ Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris
○ McArthur "Cellium" Jovel
○ Zack "Drazah" Jordan
○ Chris "Simp" Lehr
○ James "Crowder" Replays [Coach]
○ Richard "RJ" Simoncelli [Coach]
Offseason Reactions
Ronnie: ‘It was a mild offseason from Faze after winning the EWC of Coruse; they kept the same roster together. Now if they failed to win EWC, a lot of questions would have needed to be answered, with many speculating about the long-term trio of Cellium, Simp, and Abezy splitting. The only actual change from Faze was them letting go of SND coach 2Pac.”
Easy Mac: “FaZe kept steady this offseason, resisting the urge to join in Rostermania. With superstar talent available, Atlanta stood pat for the first time since the Cold War offseason. Some moves could’ve been made, such as courting the duo of Scrap & HyDra, but those moves would’ve been risky and a major shake-up of their foundation. It is concerning that 2Pac was released though. With Texas & LAT being great respawn teams, the advantage that Atlanta has is in SND. They must be great in that mode this season & with 2Pac not there, it puts more pressure on Control to be great like last season.”
Season Expectations
Ronnie: “Expectations for the upcoming season? Simply put, win everything; nothing outside of winning is good enough for this roster and organization. Of course, it's not always that simple, but they will enter every match and event expecting to win without a doubt.”
Easy Mac: “With Toronto & New York sacrificing themselves for the LA Thieves superteam, there are now three top-tier teams in the CDL. Multiple other teams could join that party, such as Vancouver or New York, but for now, that means Top 3 has to be the floor for FaZe. With two Minors, four Majors, EWC, and Champs on the schedule for now, the goal should be three LAN wins & a Minor victory. The team will undoubtedly want one of the three LAN wins to be Champs as well, as they haven’t won Champs in four seasons.”

Players to Watch in Black Ops 6
Ronnie: “A lot of Faze's success comes down to the pace Cellium plays at; no surprise, the two majors he played fastest at Faze ended up winning; he needs to come into this year with that pace he showed at EWC; if he can do that, Faze should be unbeatable.”
Easy Mac: “Every player on this team is great and are all force multipliers, but the one that I’m looking at is aBeZy. He is one of, if not the best SND player in the World. When he gets going, aBeZy is extremely hard to play in Control due to the map pressure he applies staggers attacks and allows his teammates to slay out. With LAT & Texas going to be undoubtedly great in Hardpoint, this team will need to be excellent in SND & Control. That is what won them Champs in Cold War, and what they need to be this season. To do that, aBeZy has to be the annoying & electric SMG that makes FaZe one of the hardest teams to play in Call of Duty.
