Howdy Ya'll, who's ready for the second Major of the CDL season in Texas?!
The twelve teams are ready to battle for the next Major championship as rivalries, roster moves, & storylines have leading the conversation going into the tournament. Having previously updated our power rankings before the Minor II, it's time to update them going into the weekend. Here is how the BreakingPoint team ranks each of the teams at the current moment.
How the teams are ranked: The writers, stats team, and content team at Breaking Point were polled to rate each of the 12 teams β putting more weight on recency instead of the entire season. Since there have only been two weeks of play, the team was assigned to rank the teams going into the Minor. Each ranks the teams 1st through 12th. After collecting the rankings from the BP team, each team would be given points for each vote, as seen below:
1st β 12 points
2nd β 11 points
3rd β 10 points
4th β 9 points
5th β 8 points
6th β 7 points
7th β 6 points
8th β 5 points
9th β 4 points
10th β 3 points
11th β 2 point
12th β 1 points
Previous Ranking: February 25th, 2025 - Pre-Minor II
1st: Los Angeles Thieves
Voting: 12.0 Avg Points, S Tier
18-5 Record (78%), 65-30 Map Count (68%), 225 CDL points (2nd Seed)
Roster: Envoy - Ghosty - HyDra - Scrap
Previous Ranking: 2nd (Up 1 Spot)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 4:30 pm EST vs Boston Breach
LA Thieves enters the Major as the favorites to take the trophy, as they finished off the qualifiers with a 21-2 map count. The team looks like a well-oiled machine across all three gamemodes, giving opponents little to work with. Search & Destroy will be the mode to watch. With a 10-2 record in Stage II, the Thieves are the best SND team currently, powered by a 1.27 K/D from Daniel "Ghosty" Rothe and 1.41 K/D by Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez in the Stage.
2nd: Atlanta FaZe
Voting: 11.0 Avg Points, S Tier
18-5 Record (78%), 61-34 Map Count (64%), 230 CDL points (1st Seed)
Roster: aBeZy - Cellium - Drazah - Simp
Previous Ranking: 1st (Down 1 Spot)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 6:00 pm EST vs Minnesota Rokkr
The current Atlanta FaZe resembles the LA Thieves team during Stage I. The team is 17-5 in respawn modes, ranking 1st in Hardpoint, but are just 4-6 in Search & Destroy. This is concerning going into the tournament, but at the same time, this team has been the pinnacle of SND since the beginning of the CDL. Slumps come and go, but the squad will be hoping to rediscover their SND form this weekend quickly.
Voting: 9.7 Avg Points, A Tier
16-8 Record (67%), 55-39 Map Count (59%), 175 CDL points (3rd Seed)
Roster: Gwinn - SlasheR - TJHaly - Vivid
Previous Ranking: 3rd (Unchanged)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 1:30 pm EST vs Vancouver Surge
The Royal Ravens have silently had a very consistent season so far. They are 6-3 during Stage II thus far, ranking in the top 4 in all three of the game modes. Their SND has been dangerous this year, but recently the respawn modes have been polished. That was their downfall at Major I, getting 100-point clubbed twice against the Thieves. This could be the weekend we see Carolina in the Finals if one of the two top teams stumbles along the way.

4th: Vancouver Surge
Voting: 9.3 Avg Points, A- Tier
12-9 Record (57%), 47-44 Map Count (52%), 110 CDL points (5th Seed)
Roster: O4 - abuzah - Nastie - Neptune
Previous Ranking: 4th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 1:30 pm EST vs Carolina Royal Ravens
The Vancouver Surge caught fire with their new signing Travis "Neptune" McCloud, but have cooled off heading into the Major. They fell to LA Thieves in the Minor & qualifiers, while also losing to the Toronto Ultra in a Map 5 thriller. While Surge did take victories over Miami & Minnesota, they haven't looked as dominant as the opening weeks of the Stage. This will be their first LAN with the new team though, so expect Vancouver to be hungry for a deep run.
5th: Toronto Ultra
Voting: 8.0 Avg Points, B Tier
13-7 Record (65%), 44-35 Map Count (56%), 150 CDL points (4th Seed)
Roster: Beans - CleanX - Insight - JoeDeceives
Previous Ranking: 6th (Up 1 Spot)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 3:00 pm EST vs Cloud9 New York
One of the hardest teams to place, the Toronto Ultra comes in at number 5 in the new power rankings. The Canadian squad has looked great in SND, winning two map 5s this stage, but hasn't always been convincing in respawns. Wins against Texas & Vancouver this week have renewed hope that Toronto can find themselves battling for a championship on Sunday. Joseph "JoeDeceives" Romero has been the team's hero this stage, posting a 1.15 overall K/D and 99.7 Slayer Rating.

6th: Cloud9 New York
Voting: 7.0 Avg Points, B Tier
8-12 Record (40%), 39-41 Map Count (49%), 65 CDL points (10th Seed)
Roster: Attach - Kremp - Mack - Sib
Previous Ranking: 7th (Up 1 Spot)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 3:00 pm EST vs Toronto Ultra
While their record doesn't suggest it, Cloud9 has been one of the better teams as of late. Daunte "Sib" Gray refound his form during Major I, and it carried over into Stage II. His play helped the team to an 8-3 record in Search & Destroy in Stage II and 5-4 in Control. One note of concern is that New York has fallen to Atlanta (1-3), Carolina (1-3), and LAT (1-3) over the last two weekends. While they have been able to beat up on the other middle-of-the-pack teams, the squad hasn't been able to overcome the top 3 teams. That'll have to change in Texas.
7th: Minnesota RΓKKR
Voting: 5.7 Avg Points, B- Tier
9-12 Record (43%), 42-47 Map Count (47%), 90 CDL points (8th Seed)
Roster: Estreal - Gio - Nero - PaulEhx
Previous Ranking: 5th (Down 2 Spots)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 6:00 pm EST vs Atlanta FaZe
Are the Minnesota Rokkr good or not? Are they just a streaky team that could find themselves on a long win streak and then a daunting losing streak? These are questions we all need answers to. The team has fallen to just 3-5 in Stage II after going 6-7 in Stage I including a Top 6 finish at Major I and 4th place in Minor I. While Justice "Estreal" McMillan has only gotten better, the inconsistencies of the other three players have been a glaring weakness. Consistent is key, but that key has seemed to be misplaced for the Rokkr the past couple of weekends.
8th: Miami Heretics
Voting: 5.0 Avg Points, C+ Tier
7-14 Record (33%), 38-49 Map Count (44%), 100 CDL points (6th Seed)
Roster: Lucky - MettalZ - ReeaL - RenKoR
Previous Ranking: 8th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Friday - March 21st at 1:30 pm EST vs loser of LAT/BOS
The 7-14 Series record this season sticks out like a sore thumb, but the Heretics are firmly in the Top 8 this season with 100 CDL points. Granted, the majority of those points were earned at Major I, so the pressure will be on the team to perform yet again on LAN. They have struggled in Stage II, but are 7-6 in Hardpoint with a 2-0 record on Protocol and 3-0 on Skyline. If they improve their league-worst SND defense, they'll have a chance to upset a team in Texas.

9th: Boston Breach
Voting: 4.3 Avg Points, C Tier
8-10 Record (44%), 35-43 Map Count (45%), 80 CDL points (9th Seed)
Roster: Cammy - Owakening - Purj - Snoopy
Previous Ranking: 9th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Thursday - March 20th at 4:30 pm EST vs LA Thieves
Boston has a tough matchup against the red-hot LA Thieves to start the Major, but if they fall, they face the Miami Heretics. They have a 3-5 record in Stage II, but have looked better in both Hardpoint & SND as of late. Slaying will always be a concern with this roster but against other middle-of-the-pack teams, they can win with the solid teamwork they possess.
10th: OpTic Texas
Voting: 3.0 Avg Points, D+ Tier
11-11 Record (50%), 40-46 Map Count (47%), 95 CDL points (7th Seed)
Roster: Dashy - Skyz - Pred - Shotzzy
Previous Ranking: 10th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Friday - March 21st at 4:30 pm EST vs loser of ATL/MIN
After going 0-18 in map count in the Major II Qualifiers, OpTic Texas finally got on the board with a 3-1 win over LA Guerrillas M8s on Sunday. Even with the result, the team has decided to change the roster just days before the start of their own Major. Kenneth "Kenny" Williams was released from the squad in place of ex-M8s player Cesar "Skyz" Bueno. Fans will be hoping for an instant honeymoon phase that will be based on strong SND play. Starting in the Lower Bracket, they will only have one life as they try to make a Lower Bracket run to the Finals.

11th: Los Angeles Guerrillas M8
Voting: 2.0 Avg Points, D- Tier
4-14 Record (22%), 28-44 Map Count (39%), 30 CDL points (11th Seed)
Roster: KiSMET - Lynz - Priestahh - Lunarz
Previous Ranking: 11th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Friday - March 21st at 6:00 pm EST vs loser of TOR/C9NY
Personally, I've had major issues with this team in the Black Ops 6 season. They have managed to dodge criticism due to the struggles of both Vegas & Texas. Their performance has been woeful, including a 2-7 record in Stage II with wins against Vegas & Miami. There has been nothing to inspire any sort of confidence going into Texas, so expect the M8s to have a short run at the Major.
12th: Vegas Falcons
Voting: 1.0 Avg Points, F Tier
0-17 Record (0%), 9-51 Map Count (15%), 0 CDL points (12th Seed)
Roster: D7oomx - Exnid - KiinG - WXSL
Previous Ranking: 12th (Unchanged)
Next Match: Friday - March 21st at 3:00 pm EST vs loser of CAR/VAN
It's hard to be critical of the Falcons, as they are now 0-17 in series and 0-26 in Hardpoints. Their Control is playable, sitting at 3-5 in Stage II, but their SnD has fallen. While there is little chance at Vegas winning multiple Hardpoints in a matchup, they could sneak a victory in the future behind a neslo. Unfortunately, their draw will be incredibly hard at the Major facing either Carolina or Vancouver. They'll have to regroup & retool going into Stage III.
