Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gentlemen’s Agreement list and official ruleset

Yet another controversial season of the Gentlemen’s Agreement in the Call of Duty League has arrived, and it only took pro players less than seven days to start unofficially banning items, as agreed by all 12 teams.

The Kastov-74u quickly rose to the top of the meta in the first week of Modern Warfare II — but its reign didn’t last long. The weapon was the first addition to the 2022-2023 Gentlemen’s Agreement list early into the release of the new game, and not long after, the STB 556 and the Fennec 45 joined it.

On top of those three weapons, Flash Grenades have also been completely ruled out, Smoke Grenades are restricted in both respawn modes, and Trophy Systems are limited to just two per team.

Over in Europe, Challenger players have completely restricted all Sniper Rifles within competitive play, but professional players are currently trialing the fan-favorite weapon without attachments before removing them entirely from meta.

In addition to the unofficial ruleset, the official ruleset was also announced yesterday which includes a confirmation of our map pool for Major I, weapons bans, item bans, and competitive settings for all three game modes.

  1. First CoD in a while where MULTIPLE guns are being used and pros are GA’ing everything. Heard this morning that they are talking about adding the M4 to the GA list. I don’t think this is the right move, kind of sad. Would of liked to see CDL this year with a multitude of weapons.

  2. I still don’t like how much is banned and how much is GA’d in Call of Duty. Imagine if League of Legends players just agreed that every powerful character in every patch was not allowed to be played. Every year 95% of the game is banned and of the 5% that’s left 4.9% of it gets GA’d. Obviously, these are the best players in the world but sometimes it feels less like they are the best Call of Duty players in the world and instead are the best “this extremely specific and gimped version of Call of Duty that isn’t representative of how 99% of what is actually in the game” players in the world.

  3. scoobert doo

no weapon tuning really, they just add one of the coolest things to cod and its not available in CDL. damn

  4. lol why would you ban smoke in snd? banning sniper rifles also seem ridiculous. these guys just want toruin the game for everyone since they will also be banned in ranked. hopefully, ppl who are designing the ranked will not listen to everything these pros say.

  5. Sounds boring af. I would never watch this 💩

  6. under gentlements agreement there’s a contradiction for the m4

it states that “Attachments that increase hip fire accuracy are restricted on ALL WEAPONS.” however the m4 is restricted to using only the Hightower 20″ barrel, which increases hip fire accuracy

also for what reason is everything restricted so heavily? do they wish to eliminate build variety and equipment tactics so aiming and one frag/stun is the only factor remaining?

  7. Lots of people saying “why GA, it restricts build variety” but actually, really it doesn’t. The problem is, I’d there is a single meta gun, there is zero variety, and everyone runs it. It’s why you only ever see one meta AR and one meta SMG emerge each year, even if there are technically 5 or 6 legal ones. The reason you have to GA certain weapons is when, if you didn’t, everyone would run them, and remove the need for different types of players altogether. The M4 was too good at all ranges, so a lot of guys who would typically be SMG players were running it instead.

  8. Is the Xten Nexus grip underbarrel banned because i see that for GAs hip fire underbarrels are banned up there is no hip fire for the Xten Nexus???
