Fresh off the announcement that 100 Thieves will be joining the Call of Duty League under the Los Angeles Thieves branding, the team has signed Thomas “Tommey” Trewren as their first professional Warzone player and content creator.
Tommey is an incredibly popular member of the Call of Duty community and recently his stream has exploded in popularity following the release of Call of Duty: Warzone, the hit battle royale in the franchise. Tommey is a COD esports legend, being one of the only players to attend every single Call of Duty Championship during his time as an active player.
During the 2020 season, Tommey was signed as a substitute on the Dallas Empire roster, as this step back from actively competing allowed him to invest his time into streaming for his fans. The release of Warzone was huge for Tommey, who is regarded as one of the best controller players, which is highlighted by his appearance in the top 10 earnings for the game.
This is just the first in a series of Call of Duty related signings for 100 Thieves, who revealed during their CDL announcement that they would be signing both Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile players and creators over the coming weeks and months as they look to capitalise on the enormous success of Call of Duty’s recent offerings.
