On November 6th 2020, 100 Thieves announced their return to Call of Duty as the LA Thieves.
This confirmation comes after much rumor around the sale of the OpTic Gaming Los Angeles spot to Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez with fans and insider sources speculating the entrance of 100 Thieves along with the rebranding of the Chicago franchise.
100 Thieves was a part of competitive Call of Duty during the 2019 Black Ops 4 season, placing 2nd at CoD Champs with back-to-back 1st place finishes during the year. However, the announcement of franchising and the Call of Duty League brought disappointing news to many fans with 100 Thieves announcing they would not be purchasing a spot due to financial uncertainty and a deviating brand strategy.
Eric “Muddawg” Sanders also announced his return as General Manager of the LA Thieves. Previously, he was the General Manager of OpTic Gaming Los Angeles and 100 Thieves. The LA Thieves also confirmed today that Austin “Slasher” Liddicoat, Kenny “Kenny” Williams, and Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly will make up three of the four starting roster spots with Zach “Drazah” Jordan filling the substitute position. The fourth starter has yet to be announced.
